The real source of the fire - are you commenting (about the blog in general or your current experience)?

The fire was a gray black belch of smoke from plastic / fiberglass / resin boats. This fire because of its dense smoke made several news agencies guess that UTMB was on fire. When it began, Galveston Fire looked at it and the rising waters made it impossible to fight. Two blackhawks surveiled by air after this but with the winds gaining speed left the area to safety. Life over property.

It doesn't seem like much of the news (information or misinformation) is making it out of the immediate Houston/Galveston area, making it difficult for evacuees to sort out what is going on in the area. A section with photos organized by section of the city would really help folks (whether done by you or someone else with time to burn), so that people can have a sense of what each of their neighborhoods is like now, and roughly how much remains. -- Christine

Hey there, what a great job you did serving the general public while enabling all of us to leave...I'm sorry to hear that your house got ruined downstairs, and hopefully your upstairs is safe. Thank you for looking in on us and those that we know..the list is getting longer, and instead of you being an "emergenoligist" you may become a HAZMAT worker since our places will...well, you know. Looking fwd to some more porch time in the rockers and them Friday night dinners....regards, MJ.

Great to hear from you! Glad you're "OK", as OK as you are. Hopefully the damage to your house is not too bad.

I Sent out an email to whatever Cooper addresses I had from Facebook and Linkedin - we're all thinking about you.

Take good care of yourself - talk to you soon!
